Easy Vegan Pesto and Tomato Pizza with Balsamic Glaze
Who else enjoys Pizza Fridayβs? This is one of our familyβs favorite pizza to make as one of our Pizza Friday dishes.
Made using our homemade Dairy-free Basil Pesto Sauce. This recipe is easy to make and a kid friendly vegan dinner dish.
This recipe is easy to make, full of flavor and is oil-free, dairy-free and a sure to be a hit in your home.
Finding a Vegan pizza that is oil-free is sometimes hard to come by, so we wanted to create a dish that was not only Vegan friendly, but also a recipe you could enjoy as part of a plant-based diet, was kid-friendly, and tasted good.
We aim to please, and this recipe definitely does. The balsamic takes it up a notch and adds a great flavor to make it a delicious recipe your whole family will love.
Homemade Vegan Pizza for the win!
Since going Vegan and Plant-based last year we have been creating some amazing pizza recipes.
Who knew that there were so many great Vegan and plant-based inspired pizza toppings that each week we come up with a new recipe.
Making pizza from scratch can be a great way to get the kids involved in making dinner. Each child can choose their own toppings and make their own pizza. Do you do Family Game Night? Pizza makes for a great dish to serve at your next Family Game Night dinner.
Homemade Oil-Free Vegan Pizza Dough
The key was to make sure that you use the right yeast and use warm up water on the stove that is between 120Β° F and 130Β° F.
I found that making the dough from scratch can be challenging unless you have the right ingredients and measurements. It took me a while, but I finally found one that worked.
Pizza Dough Ingredients:
1 ΒΎ cups to 2 cups of whole wheat flour. I have also used whole wheat all-purpose flour
1 Β½ tsp active dry yeast
ΒΌ tsp date sugar
ΒΌ tsp sea salt
1 cup warm water (130Β°F to 150Β°F)
1 tsp almond milk
Oil-free Pizza Dough
This pizza dough is oil-free and dairy-free.
Ingredients
- 1 ΒΎ cups to 2 cups of whole wheat flour. I have also used whole wheat all-purpose flour
- 1 Β½ tsp active dry yeast
- ΒΌ tsp pure cane sugar
- ΒΌ tsp sea salt
- 1 cup warm water (130Β°F to 150Β°F)
- 1 tsp almond milkΒ
Instructions
- In a medium size bowl add in flour, yeast, sugar, and
salt. - On the stovetop in a small pan, heat up 1 cup of warm water until it reaches 120°F to 130° F. Using a
thermometer to check the temperature. If you get the water too warm, you can let it sit for a few minutes until it reaches the desired temperature. - Stir in the water with the other ingredients until combined.
- On parchment paper, lightly flour the surface and knead the dough until the dough is smooth.
- Cover and let sit for about 10-15 minutes.
- Once the dough has sat for about 10-15 minutes, roll
the dough into a 10-12 inch circle using a rolling pin. You can add about a tsp of plant milk to the
top and place on a baking sheet in the oven for 400°F for about 8-10 minutes. - Remove from the oven and add your favorite toppings and then place back in the oven for about an additional 8 minutes or until golden brown.

Vegan Pesto and Tomato Pizza
This Pesto and Tomato Pizza is oil-free, dairy-free, and a great addition to a plant-based diet.
Ingredients
- 1- 1- 10-12 inch pre-made oil-free pizza dough
- ΒΌ cup of Dairy-free Basil Pesto Sauce
- Β½ Cup of dairy-free Shredded mozzarella cheese or homemade mozzarella cheese
- 1 small tomato, sliced Β
- 1 TBSP Balsamic Vinegar
Instructions
- Pre-heat your oven to 400°F
- On your pre-made oil-free pizza dough, spread the pesto sauce over the surface.
- Add on your sliced tomatoes around dough.
- Bake at 400°F for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and drizzle the balsamic
vinegar over the top and serve.
To make the Pesto and Tomato Pizza
1-10-12 inch pre-made oil-free pizza dough
ΒΌ cup of Dairy-free Basil Pesto Sauce
Β½ Cup of dairy-free mozarella cheese
1 small tomato, sliced
1 TBSP Balsamic Vinegar
Instructions:
Pre-heat your oven to 400Β°F
Take your pre-made oil-free pizza dough, spread the pesto sauce over the surface.
Add on your sliced tomatoes to the top.
Bake at 400Β°F for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Remove from the oven and drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the top and serve.
This Vegan Pesto and Tomato Pizza is definitely one people will be asking you to make again.
