The Best Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte (Dairy-Free)
Wow! we are already in the middle of October and this year is moving quite quickly. As we all know, fall brings yearly traditions which are unique to the season. Among those fall celebrated traditions are Labor Day, Halloween, Veterans Day, and Thanksgiving. Not all fall traditions are easily find on our yearly calendars.
I have a confession; I am not a coffee person. But I am a lover of all things pumpkin!
Each year I see all the posts on social media from my friends who cannot wait until fall time when Starbucks releases their famous Pumpkin Spice Latte. You know the drink that everyone is talking about starting around the end of August.
Well, I decided that I would get in on the action. What kind of food blogger would I be if I didnβt at least get a Pumpkin Spice Latte up on the blog for you to enjoy.

For individuals like myself, a regular Pumpkin Spice Latte you find at a coffee shop would normally contain animal-based milk.
Not to worry, vegan coffee drinkers, help is on its way!
Recently, I discovered a recipe for Pumpkin Spice Latte that would not only satisfy this seasonal craving of a warm drink to warm our body as the temperatures fall, but tastes delicious, and is vegan and plant-based and oh so delicious.
To enjoy this delicious drink you will need only these 5 ingredients:
Brewed Coffee (Your favorite one)
Pumpkin Puree
Pumpkin Spice
Maple Syrup
Almond Milk
Pumpkin Season
Fall is a great time to enjoy this vegan and plant-based treat since everywhere you look there is something pumpkin out there. Making it easier to find pumpkin puree, one of the main ingredients of this recipe.
And even better this recipe is so delicious, even a non-coffee lover like myself could not wait for my next cup.
This recipe can be made either on the stove top or if you are looking to add froth to your latte, you can make it in the blender. Either way it is a plant-based recipe that is sure to please even non-coffee drinkers like myself.
Step 1
Brew your favorite coffee.
Step 2
In a saucepan over medium heat, stir the brewed coffee, pumpkin, maple syrup and pumpkin pie spice until combined. Slowly whisk in almond milk. Bring mixture to a low simmer, stirring occasionally and remove from heat.
Step 3
Pour the ingredients into a mug. Serve right away and enjoy!
You can also adjust the flavoring depending on your preference.
Want more Servings
This recipe is for one serving, but you can double or triple the recipe to make enough for you and your friends to enjoy.
Make it Caffeine-Free
Want to make this Pumpkin Spice Latte caffeine free, just replace the brewed coffee with additional almond milk.
Tips to make it Foamy and Frothy
To make this recipe foamy and frothy like they do at Starbucks, transfer the stovetop ingredients to a blender and pulse several times until foamy and frothy. (If you do not have a blender, you can also use a hand-held immersion blender instead.)
No Blender or Hand Mixer?
Add in some coconut cream to the top or mix it in with the other ingredients. Either way, this Plant-based Pumpkin Spice Latte is sure to please even the non-coffee drinkers.
Want even more Flavor?
Add in a Β½ tsp of vanilla.
No Unsweetened Almond Milk?
I made this recipe using unsweetened almond milk, but you can use coconut milk instead.
Homemade Pumpkin Spice
If you cannot find pumpkin spice in the grocery store, you can make a homemade pumpkin spice from spices you might already have in your cupboard.
To make Homemade Pumpkin Spice you will need:
1/4 cup ground cinnamon
4 tsp ground nutmeg
4 tsp ground ginger
1 tbsp ground cloves or allspice.
Mix all the ingredients together until combined and store in an airtight container.
Now that I have found a coffee drink I can get behind, I just might be one of those people you who will see getting excited that Pumpkin Spice Latte season is here.
